What engine do you have? If it is a V8 you can try to adjust the rockers. If you a have a V6, some can be adjusted and some cannot. If adjustment does not work, which is very likely,then the lifter will have to be replaced. Replacing the lifter involves removing the intake manifold and fishing the lifter out.

 

i've got a 96 6cyl. 3.8 liter 3800 series II engine, can those lifters be adjusted? and i heard about something called marvels mystery oil combined with 5-30 weight oil might clean out that lifter, is that true?

 

Can't adjust valve lash in your car. The lighter weight oil and the extra detergent may or may nothelp, but it won't hurt to try.
