Default T-tops leak

Drivers side t-top leaks but only when the car is parked pointing up hill. The leak is in the back and drips on the back seat. It does not seem leak while I am driving or if its pointing down hill. Any comon issues? I was going to pull the seals off and put sealant between the car and the seals. The seals all look like new.

History
The lady I got it from said they did not leak but she also said it was garage kept. She may not have known. She had also told me they use to leak but she had the dealer fix it, She said it cost over $1000 and it was about 12 months before I bought the car. I have no clue if it was all BS or not but she did tell me this after the deal was done.

It's body twist from that new engine! Seriously, I don't know, Are the rubber seals easy to remove without damaging them.

well dealers like to take peoples money one way or another. i have had a similar issue with my car but at the front of the t-top and basicly all the time. the fix is to either get new weather stripping or do what i did and get some 3M strip caulk(comes in a white and blue box at least mine did). sweet stuff just lay it around where you see the water making it's way in and if you have to use a hose or something to find the trail do so that way if it's not raining and problem solved.

Have you tried tightening the tops down more by lowering the front or rear pin receivers? You need to remove the trim panels to get to them. Two screws each with a slotted mount (in case you didn't know).

LOL I was looking thru old posts and saw this. For people dumb like me make sure your seat belt is not closed in the door and if you have manual window give them a little extra push. With the door closed right and the window ALL the way up I can not get it to leak. Who would have thought?

Good info, I'm gonna write that one down. Let's see, if it's raining, roll windows all the way up. Got it!
This thread should be a sticky!!! lol

ha ha, windows up = good.

Mine did leak sometimes if it was raining really heavily and car point upwards, i just put some sealer and built the seal up a bit, like the 3M idea and its usually fine now

I am not as dumb as I look.... You can roll the window up all the way with the door closed and it will leak. But if you open the door you can get another 10 degs out of the crank. It seals right up. The hings have a bit of sag to them and I think the door is sitting a little out of position. But I am not sure if its the door or something they did when they installed the new weather striping. If I forget to crank it up with the door open I get a wet seat belt
