Default Strange MPG readings

Greetings, I have a 95 3.8L auto Camaro. I have been gettings calculations of 23 to 27+ MPG depending on how I drive it, the really strange thing is that the harder I drive it the better the mileage I get...or so it seems, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this same sort of thing or not? I am new to GM products but not to auto mechanics as a whole and I have never experienced this!

Thanks, just wondering.
Ken

have it scanned for codes. may be running rich at lower rpms. could also be a issue in the trany, may be getting stuck part way inbetween gears.

It could also depend on what your definition of driving hard is, driving like an absolute grandma can actually hurt your mileage especially at low speeds, like I do mostly city driving and neighborhoods kill mileage all together cause the 25 mph limit and stop signs

Yeah, the best mileage in my Z is at like 65-70mph, but in my truck its like 60 or so so it varies with each car. But at WOT (which is pretty hard driving lol) and I can watch the gas gauge slowly drop lol

C5 vettes get crazy good mileage at around 80 just because there so dang aerodynamic, and I cannot wait to own one in a few years(:

With my 96 I can get high 20s if I drive it a little hard but I'm kinda getting around 15 right now because it runs so little since it's a 5 minute drive to work with about 10 minutes of slowly crawling to the parking lot which kills my milage.
