Strange Fuel/Electric problem

OK here we go. Car dies while driving, tried to start it, it cranked but didnt turn over. Had the fuel pump replaced. This is where it gets intresting. turned it on and off about 15 times without a problem, started up perfectly, drove it a sum of about 3 hours that night. The next morning i go outside, start it up on the first try and leave it to run for 5-8 mins. It dies, when I go to start it it cranks for a second sometime less sometimes 2-3 seconds and it doesnt start, it just makes a whizing/spinning sound. Also when I turn the key to the on position you can hear that hum that the fuel pump makes, if I try to turn the key to off and then on again it wont work, itll only hum again when i take the key out and wait a little bit. tried jumping it in the morning and it started a few times and ran for about half a minute, tried it again in the afternoon and it would only start once for about 10 seconds

Next time it stalls or refuses to start, check the fuel pressure at the rail. If pressure is OK, it is most likely a problem with the ignition system breaking down, check for nice fat blue spark at spark plug end of plug wires, yellow spark = weak. Get the coils and the control module under the coils checked out. Places like Autozone do it free. If they are OK, look at both Crank Position sensors.
