What is the difference between the SS V.1 ram air and the SS V.2 ram air? From pictures it looks like the V.1 is a little bigger. Im trying to decide what hood I want to buy.

 

I believe it's simply the shape of the scoop, it's the difference between the shape from the 96 and 97 SS versus the shape of the 98+ SS. Either way you go, neither is going to have a performance gain over the other (Ram Air isn't functional until you're doing at least 80 mph anyway).

 

depends what company you are talking about, i know the v2 hood thats 3inches has a different design where the air goes through the scoop straight into the air box unlike the oem design where it goes around into the front where the air box is
