Sofie's interior project

So I started working on her custom interior today. I spent 7 hours working on it after working 4am-9am already this morning. I only did her rear (I know, it's gonna look odd until I finish it). Here's a few pics (they don't do a justice, much better looking in person).

The lighting isn't the greatest, so it doesn't look that nice. But you get the idea. I have more pics in my album https://camaroforums.com/forum/album.php?albumid=578

Not trying to tell ya what to do, but putting a cover like that over your amp is'nt a good idea. Unless you have cooling fans built into that cover somewhere your amp is gonna run at a way higher temp. than it should. Be carefull once you let the smoke out of it you can't put it back:)

It's basically just a top with short sides. There's plenty of ventilation on all sides. I took that into consideration when I made it. It's more or less temporary until I tint my windows. Plus I don't drive long enough for it to get that hot all at one shot. People around here break into cars a lot, so I was trying to hide it the best way I could for now.

Cool deal! Just wanted to make sure you took ventilation in to consideration. I had a friend once that thought it would be a good idea to mount a memphis 100a high current amp ($500) under the seat of a third gen. Bet you can guess how that worked out. But I do like the progress so far lookin good:icon_headbang:

Thanks for the concern. It was a big one when trying to figure out where to install it and how to try to hide it (I'm very paranoid on top of everything). So there's a decent amount of clearance on top, and then the short sides of course. It's less visible now with everything turning black, so the window tinting will probably do the trick. I check it often though just in case.

Did you ever find seat covers?

DarlingReject 09-28-2009 08:29 PM

No, I'm still stuck on what to do. I thought my mom could make them, but her sewing machine sucks and can't do any kind of thick fabric. So I don't have a clue yet. That's the last issue to tackle with the interior.
