SLP Air Lid on a V6
I know it's not made for it, but I can't find a Whisper Lid anywhere, and I was able to pick up an SLP lid for the '98-'99 LS1 for $50 (which I couldn't say no to). In theory, it's just the fact that the TB for the 3800 isn't centered on the air lid like it is on the LS1, right? So I'll need to make my own tubing from the lid to the TB.
I'll try to take lots of pics and post how I did this when I get the part in and do the actual install. It's gonna be a fun weekend for the Camaro. I'm putting new speakers into the doors, a new (to me) CD player, and the air lid, hopefully. I'm gonna have an awesome day Saturday.

The airlid is installed, and I love the added intake noise! It sounds so much better IMO. I have a tube on order to go from the lid to the TB. Right now I have it rednecked up with some dryer ducting and gorilla tape.
That can't be getting me very good airflow, so I can't wait to get it put together right.
Also, the new speakers are in, and noise coming from more than 2 speakers in my car is so nice! The stereo still has to get spliced in, and I need to pick up a dash adapter, as the new H/U is single DIN, and the OEM is double.

Well, I will try to help you. I have a '98 V6 with a Z Ram intake. Very similar to the SPL intake (but that's a different story).
What you want to do is to remove the Air Reserve Box which is an air baffle. Your air intake box should have a 5" diameter air port going out to the Air Reserve Box and your throttler body should have a 4" diameter intake. So you need an air intake reducer from 5" to 4". I have one or two words for you, Lowe's or Home Depot.
Only on the '98 it goes from 4" to 4" so I used 4" air ducting. Look for a 5" to 4" reducer. You will need to be creative but you will save a lot of $$$ in the long run.

I wanted to do a better follow up on this. What I did was to take a 4" air duct elbow and shape it into what would fit. I also had to remove a couple sections from it. Then I sealed the air insides and painted black. As you can see from the pictures, I need to paint it again.
I've got mine in, and I'll be using this (ZZPerformance - Intake Tubing #ZZ-INTKTUBE) once it comes in to connect the lid. I'm so glad to not have the angled TB, at least. Makes my life easier.
Thanks for the input and pics!

Got the Air Lid installed with a hose from ZZPerformance (ZZPerformance - Intake Tubing #ZZ-INTKTUBE)

I think it looks pretty good, too.
