Default slow but steady rebuild need some ideas

right now replace head gasket has any body got any tricks of the trad they would like to pass on cause it a ***** right now


was also wondering how to go about swithing my drums out for disc and any body who want to put insight to any thing fell free to

best way to change to disc brakes is to switch your rearend. check out the local wrecking yards and see what they have thatll work. hardest part of the heads is getting them out. lol exhaust manifolds are the worst part doin that, if you have not got them out yet spray em down with stuff like pb blaster. torquing the heads is the hardest part installing.

yhea got the manifold off it was a pain the rear lol thanks keep that advice in mind . have any advice how to get every thing like brand new clean lol wishfulll hopeing huh?

the best way to get a grade-A head gasket job is to drop da engine. dont get me wrong, you can do it with the block still in the bay, its just 10 times easier with the engine out on these camaros. i just got done doing head gaskets on a 3.4L v6 from an Olds Alero. the engine remained in the car but it wasn't as hard because it was FWD.

yhea i it would be easier just cant take it out and all have kids running around in the yard and all

i am haveing isues with the valve spring retaing clip it stuck so any sugestion on how to get that danm thing off lol thank

if the heads are still on the car you dont want to take the valve springs off and shops that do valve jobs dont want the springs or retainer clips removed. you can take the rocker arms lose and if you take them off keep track of where they came from, those and the push rods. you want all the valve train parts to go back into the original location if you are reuseing them.
