Question Slight Issue!

So I rebuilt my motor I decided to wrap my exhaust with heat-wrap!, an when the motor gets to normal temps the wrap begins to burn, causing alot of smoke and an unpleasant smell.... Is this normal? Will it stop?

handi-wrap?
Is something missing from that sentence, or is that an acronym or abbreviation I'm not familiar with?

What brand heat wrap did you get? Heat wrap and header wrap are not the same thing...

i did my headers with similar stuff, i also treaded it with the spay to seal it from moister, even though you'll never really keep the moister out but it helps. mine smelled for 100 mi or so every so often i smell the wrapping when it gets pretty hot, not a big deal.
