So kinda ironic story...
The first time my dad drove my brothers new sled he rolled it (like 2 mph so no dmg still made him cringe). First time he drove his z24 cavy which he got right out of high school he broke his cupholder in the center with his knee(100bucks).
He moved my z28 the other day since I drove my truck to work and when I hopped in the front of the head liner was starting to fall down so I poked fun that he is starting to break my stuff now but at least it is a cheap fix.
Next day I followed him home and hopped in the back of his truck to fill holes in the driveway, and since I pulled too far forward and didn't want to shower it in gravel, he gets in my car to move it back...and break my ash tray lid (off at the hinge).
ANYWAYS frustrating but cant help myself, I have to laugh.
EDIT: Tried Craigslist, ebay, a couple forums, scrap yards (the few that have websites will start calling tomorrow)
Where can I get p/n 10228264 which is a shift plate for a 94-96 m6.
GM doesn't produce this still do they?

Hmm, that might actually work. I just glanced at it real quick last night and it looked like there were male connectors on the shift plate that fit into the ashtray lid.
Upon closer inspection it looks like I was mistaken. Is it normal for the right side to be held on my a screw? Actually a pretty good idea maybe I will just drill through the hinge and pop a small screw in there.
Or for 7 bucks I could do it right...hmm decisions lol.

I needed my father to drive my car to inspection one morning because my work schedule is pretty tight. I got the car back later that day with the SES light on and a broken center console lid hinge.
