Not bad- I still cant seem to get the damn thing off though-is there some kind of retainer on there? Also, my shift boot is no longer attached to the console- what holds the sides of the boot to the console??

 

No one knows what holds the upper shift boot to the console???

 

It is held on by small clips around the edge of the bottom of the boot. Inside the boot itself there is a small plastic ring which is actually pretty week. I have a whole corner missing from mine. If the plastic piece isn't broken it should pop back into place, otherwise you may need to repair or get a new ring.

 

Sounds like I need a new ring- should I just hit up my local stealership?
