Default Shifter ****- HELP

I have a 95 Z28 6 Speed, and I want to replace the stock shifter "ball" because it is very worn, but I cant for the life of me unscrew it with my hands. Also I dont want to damage the shifter itself bytwisting on it too hard.Is it just threaded on there very tightly? What would you guys recommend for getting it off? This would seem so simple to replace but it is giving me a hard time.

Is the ball the stock one. Some aftermarket ***** have setscrews hidden somewhere that may be hindering your ability to get it off.

wrap something thick around it, like card board or a bike tube, then use a huge pair of water pump plyers and twist it off.

I was gonna replace mine. I wanted to remove my shifter and have a wrench welded to it, something kinda different. HaVING A small piston and connecting rod would look really muscle esk. Having my bosses throat to squeaze while shifting would be f-in awsome. A nice breast implant would feel good. The choices are endless.

My stock shifter **** was getting worn too. I justtore it all off and left it bare. It doesn't look or feel bad at all imo.

Oh, the stock **** is just threaded on there so I would do what chappie said
