serious problem - fuel pump related

ok so i thought the fuel pump went out bought a new one and still the fuel pump does not kick on, checked relay relay clicks, checked wiring and grounds still nothing, i went through all fuses in and out im stuck out in phoenix and one have one day left to get this fixed please help

long story short, drove 2700 miles car ran great, drove about 20 miles to drop off a friend, turned car off, because it got a little hot, i used water at a gas station to cool down the rad, ran the water between rad and the a/c whever you call it for about 3 mins, got back in the car and did not start, got it towed home and still fuel pump will not turn on and i also pushed in the nipple on fuel rail and just a tiny bit wil pure out.

Do you have any fuel pressure? Do you hear the whining noise the fuel pump makes when you turn the key?

Keep in mind that the fuel pump only runs for a few seconds and then turns off if the engine does not start. Your cooling procedure may have gotten the optispark wet and it died. Optispark and water do not mix well.

i fixed the problem ended up being a burnt connection upper part on the connector between the pump and the upper part of the unit, unreal!!! it was not the fuel pump after all, however i still installed a new one and used the hatch mod which i had the trap cut and pump out within 20 minutes

this WAS the connector piece that i removed and wired the unit differently

u can probably tell it burnt it self up, i should have ran a test light before uninstalling and re-installing the new pump i now know having a test light about can save time and money
