Default Is it a RS or Coupe

I need some help. So I bought a 1997 Camaro (30th anniversary) this spring, and I really love the car. However, I can't seem to keep my foot off the gas (which has gotten me speeding tickets), and I keep finding myself doing 85 or 90 down the freeway like it's nothing (I guess that's what I get for going from a Mazda grocery getter to a neat sports car). I have made the decision to sell the car, but I don't know if it is a Rally Sport or not (the person I bought it off of didn't know either; he's a tow-truck driver who towed the Camaro, the owner went to prison, never came to get the car, so he got the title through the courts and sold it to me).

All of the emblems have been popped of the car (except the Camaro one on the hood), and I have spent six or seven hours this week trying to find out info online, but keep coming up empty handed, so I really need some help (please). Did I mention that I called Chevy for help to run the VIN, and they don't even know (neither do the VIN ID things online).

The car has 16" metal rims (the middle part of it is plastic), it's all green metallic paint (including mirrors), has the Second Gear Start and fog light buttons on dash, and has a spoiler that I can fit my hand under. Can anyone help me ID this car?

Thanks,
Mindy

Do you have a picture?
Does it have the 4-Piece Ground Effects kit?

If they have the four peice ground affect package that does mean it is the rs correct but I know the vin will tell all.

The RS was built off the 3.8 v6 model, not a Z28 (you didn't say which engine you have), and it had the special ground effects pieces. But, that's not to say that someone didn't slap them on a "regular" v6 car after the fact.

Not trying to be a smart a$$. But if you're gonna sell the car why dose it really matter? Being a true rs dosen really add any value that I know of.

I have a Z-28 with a factory rs kit but it's a 99. I know that it was an option on 98 and up Z's. But I'm unsure if it was available pre-98.

Coupe is a body style...

RS is a V6 appearance option...

Post up the RPO codes either on the inside of the door or your glove box (not sure for that year).

I believe it became the 'SAP' or Sport Appearance Package, after 97' did it not?
