Default Roller Rockers?

im not too fond of rebuilding my new engine just yet or throwing a new cam in

so is it possible and beneficial in anyway to upgrade the stock rr's of 1.5 to 1.6?

Would there be any hp/tq gains? and would you honestly hear the lobe like a bigger cam? some guy was complaining that you would just by raising the roller rockers?
Also, would i need an upgraded knock module or woulda pcm tune take care of any malfunctions?

thanks guys

switching to 1.6 is beneficial yes. could see 10 added horsepower and a tune should take care of everything

thank gawd cams sound nice and all but i dont think they're for me, i couldnt tolerate driving around town feeling like my engine was on its last leg (just by the sound)
same with a supercharger, i cant stand riding in my friend's cobra for more than like 20 minutes at a time the whine is just unbearable.

Going from 1.5 to 1.6 isn't going to change your duration but your lift. Will not make it sound like it has a cam in it. The main thing you'll have to worry about is if your springs will hold the added lift. Lets say your cam is a .448 valve lift with stock rockers, that gives you a .298 (relative) cam lobe lift so with 1.6 rockers you'll have a .477 (relative) valve lift. The duration stays the same because it doesn't start to open any earlier or stay open any longer. From what "I" understand is most stock valve springs will hold a .512 valve lift without bind but I can't swear to that. When you start talking about cam's theres a lot of things that you have to concider but you didn't ask about that. Sometimes opening up your valves more wont do anything but the little bit you're looking at getting seems like it would be nice. Also, just going to the roller rockers is nice too, free's up some HP, don't get as hot and last a lot longer. I'm done with the rant, sorry about that...

the only thing i'd worry about since i have made myself promise im not touching the engine, leave the responsibility on someone else. wouldnt they charge me the $1100 to take the engine apart, basically the same as getting a whole cam set? because if that were the case id be better off just upgrading everything, or is it a really simple job (provided you have the necessary tools)
