RE: Replacing Speakers in 4th Gen Camaro *MONSOON*
hey man, not sure what you have done to your car yet audio wise, but stop what your doing. dont go replacing all your speakers cause you think they are blown unless you want to. this happened to me in my 2000 z28. the poping you hear is not uncommon of the factory amp going out, kinda expensive to replace but not too bad. you can replace the factory speakers if you want and yes infinity 5 1/2 for the front speakers are pretty awesome, but that is realitive to what kind of music you like and how loud you like it. the poping is cause the amp is just worn out. so before you go doing all the speaker replacement, hit me up with questions ill be more than happy to answer any questions i can

I need to replace the rear-seat side panel 6 3/4" bass speakers in my 2000 Camaro with Monsoon. Not sure what ohm I need, how can I find this out? I don't have the original/stock speakers anymore.

Go to Wal-Mart they have nice sounding 3-way JVC speakers...a pair of them will run you about 70 dollars and they sound great. I am running two of them in the door panels of my maro and they sound chrystal. These dont even need to be amped. It helps to have a good head unit sending a little power to them though.

I replaced my factory door and rear passenger speakers. The fronts are Boston acoustics that are 3 1/2....Yes I know they were 6 1/2. I made sheet metal templates to fit them in In the rear passenger speakers, I cut out the sheet metal around it and fit 8" JBL dual voice coil subs on both sides. I run them off a 2 channel 600 watt amp. I am running one Sony xplode 1200watt 12" sub througha JL 250 Mono amp. All this is through a Sony 54x4 deck with 3 sets of outputs. You dont need 12 speakers in your car, if you want the kick *** sound that wont distort at high volume, you have to spend a little money. Dont buy speakers at Walmart if you want something that is going to sound good when cranked. Take a ride over to your local Best Buy or Circuit City or any stereo shop, tell them waht you are looking for and what you have to spend. Flea Markets always have decent finds for cheep money or try CraigsList.org. Dont just buy anything, maybe save a little before you spend $$$then end uppissed because it sounds like ****. I have learned from experience, they sell speakers at Walmart, so Bubba can pimp out his Escort GT,still buy junior diapers and the old lady a carton of Misty lites. Oh ya and that shirt that says "Hottie" on it that is two sizes too small. You all know what I am talking about.
