remove abs relay as a temp solution?
Why? Because back then our cars had skinny ars bias ply tires that were a hard compound which gripped the road almost as badly as your kids radio flyer wagon tires, on dog poop. Yes I remember how terribly those tires didn't grip the road. Today's radial tires grip like glue by comparison. So no, driving without ABS on dry roads would not phase me in the least, since based on my experiences, the only time I've ever benefited from ABS was on snowy/icy roads.

So based on your experance your sure young people have no need for ABS unless they live in the north and no one with radials ever skidded out of control,,, ok I guess myself and the engineers at GM need to rethink this.
Have you ever used an Air bag? should they be removed from young peoples cars because there is a 99.99% chance they will never be used? It is hard to say how many peoples lives have been saved by ABS system because so many other safety systems came out at the same time. The best estimates I found is .8 to 1.4% reduction in fatalities or about 400 people a year. The combination of ABS and air bags is thought to be closer to 5%. Remember that is deaths. The amount of serious injury's could easily be 10 times that.
