Default Rear End/ Suspension Help. Curbed it.

Hi, I just bought a 97 rs. The previous owner hit a curb coming around a turn and smashed the rear passenger wheel and tire. This crushed the part of frame where rear suspension bolts in and pushed the entire rearend assembly and both wheels 2" or so to the drivers side and nowthe passenger tire rubs pretty bad on inside of wheel well. The car still has a clean title andis in great shape with less than 80K miles on it. Any thoughts? Most of the suspension looks ok with the exception of the arms. Rearend still turns freely. Thanks

How do I post pictures? New to forums.

As far as the rear suspension goes, it will probably never be right if the frame is bent.

I just found a new rearend and suspension components off a parts car. Going to throw that in but first I am going to cut off and weld a new bracket in where the arms attach to the frame. It looks like just the arms/axle and bracket were bent. The rest of the frame appears straight. I wouldn't mind keepng the car if it drives a straight line afterwards. How much can an alignment shop correct in the rear?

None since it's not an independant rear suspension.

what a twisted up mess. A frame shop could pull everything straight, but is it worth the time and money to re-weld all the components back in??

I work on an oil spill response crew and have full use of the welding equipment and tools at the docks. The time I have is on the clock anyway and this gives me something productive to do.
