Default random misfire cant figure it out

can the egr valve cause a misfire? every time the engine misses I hear a click from the passenger side right near the front of the engine. MSD wires-telco indium plugs only a few thousand miles on them. car only gets the miss after about 20 minutes of driving.no codes currently. I changed the first coil from the front onions passenger side, car didn't miss on the highway like it normally did between im idle and in park I stillhear the click aside from the coils, can that egr click like that and make it miss?

You have a miss and no check engine lite?

EGR valve should not click. in fact it should not do anything at idle. Sounds like you are getting a secondary spark leak somewhere. If swapping coils around effected it then chances are good you have a bad coil. Find a very dark place and see if you can see any spark. It can spark internal so you can not see it but you might get lucky.

Next step would be a spark tester. That will stress the coil one at a time and maybe you can see which one is acting up.

okay so def not egr. will check tonight for that spark escape. could it be possible that its more than one coil gone? the car drove significantly better after swapping the first coil with anew bwd one. do any parts store test coils? it was 70 bucks after tax. I saw rockauto has delco for 47 a piece. anyone know any place cheaper?

occasionally I will get those 2 codes for lean rich condition for both sides, 02 sensors are fairly new. I read that it could be the whole intake gasket, which I never removed, or a vacc leak, which I cant find.

Did you have the mis-fire before you changed plugs?

I changed plugs and one of the plugs cracked. I had a mis-fire but no codes for several months. I final got a mis-fire code and I looked at that cylinder and found that the new plug I put in was cracked. It doesn't happen often but it does happen.

I don't think he has code numbers to post. I didn't get a code number at first with my mis-fire, until the crack in my plug got really bad.

Auto, a cheep check to see if it's a cracked plug is to buy a copper plug and swap it in each cylinder to see if the problem goes away. If you find you are running good after swapping out the plug in a cylinder then replace the copper with another indrium plug.

It sounds like you've really chased this problem and I think this will be a cheep test.

hey thanks for everyone's speedy responses. I haven't had a chance to dig after the miss as I was chasing the loe volts matter. took it to auto zone and they load tested the battery and swore up and down it was the battery. I bought a battery and same deal. since I cleaned all the grounds, I figured only the alternator is left, so I changed the alternator, now, the volts stay right under the 13 mark, but the second some load like ac or radio is on it goes right above the red mark. its a slight improvement. now today I was thinking about it and I completely forgot about the tensioner! so I had a friend pry the tensioner engine on and put on the loads. it went right above the red but with a small touch of the gas no more than 1500 rpm it went back to a hair above 13 volts, so it seems that I have finally reached the end of the low volt issue, because I had it before, but when I changed the water pump it went away. I didn't realize the pulley was slack.I changed the tensioner about 10k miles ago, should they go so fast? any good brands? how much force should it have ?

Update about the miss... Changed all the coils on the passenger side that's where the random spark tick was coming from, the engine doesn't stumble so hard now. I only notice the miss/spark only comes once the engine becomes hot and volts drop. Can low volts cause the miss?

Also I found the y rubber vacuum connection behind the intake manifold was eaten away, I tried making a y with three rubber hoses, does any know know where or has one of these connections that I can buy?
