Rad fan not coming on

Rad fan not coming on
I bought the car with this issue. The rad fan wont come on, so the previous owner installed a fan switch. I have just been using that ever since I owned it.
I changed the CTS with no luck, I have yet to check the wiring and how they wired the switch.
What else should I be looking for?

When does your fan usually turn on so I can get an idea?

Fans are supposed to kick on @ 226* and back off @ 221* There were two styles though, '93 and early '94s only one fan would come on at full speed unless additional cooling was needed then the second fan would kick on, both at full speed. In late '94, early '95 Primary and Secondary fans that operate at only one speed.
In late 1994 and into 1995, there was a change to low and high speed fans. When they kicked on both would operate at a low speed and if needed would switch to high speed.
PCM gets it's readings from the water pump sensor (not the drivers head sensor) and if that isn't reading properly, the fans will come on at the wrong time or not at all. However, the fans do come on while A/C is running as well as when the SES light is triggered, so you could try either of those.

Thanks for the info, ill wait til it hits 230 and see what happens. I have the dual fans in my 98, I think there is a low and high speed.
My A/C is empty and does not work just FYI
Ill see what happens after work today after I get my water pump back on.

Even if the A/C doesn't work, if you try turning it on, it should still kick the fans on (assuming all wires are connected properly). You could set the SES light off with something simple like unplugging a rear O2 sensor or the MAF sensor for a minute or so to see if they kick on.
