48mm is stock for lt1. bypass is doing away with the heater at the bottom of the tb that has coolant running through it. its intended to keep the tb from freezing up in cold wheather. you just unhook the hoses and couple them together using a piece of pipe.

the bypass is really effective? noticeable? I heard that it gives more 5 HP.
beside in 1994 the hoses of the bypass are coming one from the triple head hose and one from the place when u make the air goes out of the water system when u wana refill it.
beside once I went through hell to find that triple head hose and finally I costumed one by hand.
u did the bypass for u r car?

yes i did do the bypass on mine, mostly because the tb is easier to take off without the hoses hooked to it. did not notice any difference in performance.
