Default Question about interior swap on my 99

Alright so I have a 1999 Camaro RS and I found this lady who is selling a 1995 Trans Am for $2200. It's really nice, same color as my car and it has 54,000 miles on it. It also has this really nice leather interior (seats and floor mats) that is two toned red and black, which matches my car perfectly. And the car is manual. Now I have a question, since the car is so cheap and in such a good condition, should I just buy the car and let it alone or should/would I be able to swap out the interior with mine and the transmission? I mean, that would be pretty sweet if you ask me. I would hate to dismantle such a nice car but if it means improving my Camaro in any way, then sacrifices must be made.

Lemme hear your input!!!!

I'd rather keep the Trans Am intact. Its got 54,000 miles on it and its got a V8. Your Camaro has a V6 and you want to tear apart a low mileage Trans Am that is in good condition to improve your V6 Camaro? That doesn't sound right.

Im sure with minor, or no modifying you would be able to swap out the interiors. And provided it has the same engine as your camaro then the tranny should fit too. Sure would be a good start to make your camaro 1of

oo it has a v8? ok i agree with Buffalo, no sense in upgrading a higher mileage 6 at the cost of a low mileage 8

So all 95 Trans Am's are v8? I thought the only v8 Trans Ams were the Formula 1's? Oh and what does WS6 mean for the Trans?

All Firebirds are not v8, but Trans Ams are. Are you sure its a Trans Am or is it a 6 cylinder Firebird?

I don't disagree with Buffalo this time. I would not buy a 95 stick shift, v8 car that seems to be in good condition (low miles + good interior + old lady = I made this assumption) just to take it apart. I would buy it and leave it how it is. You didn't mention anything being wrong with your car yet. Is there something we should know? Because new leather interior can be had for $500, if you did just the fronts you could find that for about half of that. Seems like an easy fix and a way for you to have the best of both worlds. 2 cars parked in your driveway u like? eh? eh?

Oh yes, one other thing...did you make sure to get the vin# and run a carfax or autocheck report? $2,200 seems like a pretty good price for one with such low mileage and nothing wrong with it with pristine leather, but you always want to watch your back. Might want to check the history and make sure the mileage checks out along with all other records on the car.

I would not make any part of this swap other than the seats!! The Firebird/TA is older first off and also OBD I or 1.5 and when it comes to emissions you would be out of luck and prolly not pass or have to pay a waiver. OBDII cars get emission checked from the link port not the tail pipe. Also federal law allows engine upgrades from newer to older but not the other way around so you may have a hard time selling the car in the future.

The Trans will not just bolt in and your car be happy. These cars are built to their drivetrain and swapping out just the trans will throw your computer into fits. Also if it is an M6 what are you gonna use for a bellhousing? To my knowlege there is no V6 to M6 bellhousing available.

A TA for $2200 would be something to flip fast and stick the money into the Camaro or just keep the TA and drive the **** out of it.
