Question About '93 Computer Programs!
I have a '93 Z28. I know just about all there is to know under the hood, but when it comes to computer programs on this generation, I haven't had much experience with it.
What is a good program to get? I want the program to allow me to change shift points, move rev limiter, activate the cooling fan to come on at a lower temp, control timing and fuel, etc. Thanks for any help.

You have an ECU so programing them is not just a simple matter. You will need to have the chip replaced or the ECU traded in for one that is already programed. 93 is the only year of Camaro that uses this type of computer. As for the shift points you dont change a 93's shift points with a computer it is done at the Valve body level.

auto trany on the 93 is partly computer controled so you can change the converter lockup and i think shift points by tuning. i would recomend using solomon, has done a very good job on mine. LT1 PCM Tuning - OBDI/OBDII PCM Tuning/Programming Service

You would be better off getting getting a tune from Alvin at pcmforless. He can adjust timing, fans, raise rev limiter and change the tcc lock up. However, the shift points are controlled through the governor on the trans with weights and springs. I just cut the small spring in half and it gave me like 300 more rpm on the 1-2 shift. Make sure the t/v cable is adjusted correctly first.

Craby, thanks for the computer advice. This sounds more along the lines of what I'm wanting to do. I'm wanting to try the AFR 210cc heads, but I haven't heard much about that brand. I'm thinking about using this Comp cam: duration 268/276, lift .570/.565. Do you think I should go bigger or smaller? How has your car ran with your lift and around how much hp and torque are you making with your cam?
