You could do it with a toggle swich and any pushbutton from radio shack, but you'd have to bypass the VATs with a kit, or just your key first. It could probably be done for less then $10, if you had the time.

I have a 96 civic with a B16a SiR Motor swap. It was my first lil "sports" car. although I haven't driven it at all for the past month since I've had the camaro ! anyway. I did a push button start system on it. I have two toggle switches. But they will not activate anything unless the key is in the ignition and the ignition is switched to the run position. Once the key is there and put to run, the first toggle switch turns on the ignition but the car will not start because the button is not yet armed. The second switch arms the push button and the button lights up red. So, put in the key, turn the key to run, flip up both switches, then push the button. Thats the way I did mine.

Just open up the ignition. Theres probably going to be one ground wire and then a wire for each key position. Find the wire that connects to the start position, disconnect it, and connect it to a wire that runs back down the steering column to wherever you want the button to be and wire the button to it and ground. Then you could still use the key, just put it to run and push the button.

I don't get it. You still have to use the ignition key to unlock the column and power the accessories. Why a separate push button to start it?
