project that wont start
 

i just bought a 1996 camaro rs with ttops 3.8 auto trans 51,000 original miles bought it as a project the guy i bought it from wrecked it
it had power doors windows and locks on it the doors were damaged in accident so original owner replaced them with manual windows and locks and just cut the wire harness going to both doors at the door jambs.

i try to start car and it wont start fuel pump dont kick on
i spray starting fluid in intake and it fires
when iturn key on no service engine soon light or check engine light comes on but check gauges does security light comes on for a second the shuts off

my question is what wire do i poke to check to see if i have power going to and from computer? i was told the computer is bad but i want to make sure before i go buy one

Are you sure the fuel pump even works?

check fuel pump relay on diver side under the kick panel by your feet. you can run 12 volts to the jump wire to the test. the connector is on the driver side by the heater core. look at number 35 and 36 on the list here http://shbox.com/1/component_location_views.html

check fuel pump by hooking it up directly to battery didnt turn on there are 3 wires hooked all up to battery never kicked on grey wire black wire and purple wire

i know black is ground what are other two for?

do i run a wire from the battery to the jumper wire by the computer to see if it kicks on?

yes positive. if you looked at the links i gave its a small connector.

i hooked up a wire from battery to that connector.......NOTHING TURNED KEY ON STILL NOTHING...........................

Replaced fuel pump now by using jumper wire it turns on a

n tries to build up pressure. But all it does ia run and run and run runs....... car still wont start. Possibly computer bad?

so the pump is not coming on when the igntion is first turnedn on? test fuel pressure regulator. could be stuck open and not allowing pressure to build.
