Default Problem with clutch??

I'm currently haveing this problem with my clutch. When I push the clutch petal in, the clutch doesn't disengage fully. In first gear the car will slowly creep and when I try to shift it won't let it go into gear. If I rev it up a little then it works just fine. Could there possibly be air in the oil lines or could this be a bigger problem?
Thanks for the help!

Call a shop for prices.

As far as not releasing, Ive been told thats a throw out bearing, but then again mechanics lie to me like crazy because Im young and stupid looking.

Clutch kits are damn near $400... if you are paying for labor too, expect a much larger bill.... Shop around

What the hell kind of clutch are you talking about for $400? Replacements shouldn't cost that much. Not stock anyways. [&:]

haha. you're right. my bad.... when i had to replace my clutch, I was looking mostly at racing clutchs (though, i didnt get one)

When I finally got mine replaced, I eneded up paying just about $400.... and $100 of that was labor. It would have cost more if we had to replace to flywheel as well... but yeah, its still pretty pricey

They all seem pretty pricey but it also depends on your ability to do it yourself or a shop. I know around here in VA the mechanics think everyone is stupid so you have to pick their brains a little and show them up and they'll talk a little more in the strate line. Please forgive my spelling....

$400 is cheap for an aftermarket clutch, and $100 to install is retardly cheap. The good clutchs are $800-1000. OP it sounds like the slave copuld be bad. You can try and bleed the one you have now and see if that helps.

Is the slave not inside the bell housing? I know it is on the t5 (if I remember correctly?) can you bleed it like that?

EDIT: Nevermind, that was a dumb question on my side, I remember how we did it now...
