no need for reprogramming. THe "chip" is actually a resistor that is made for your car. It collaborates with the ecu and the theft system to start the car. when you put the key in, if the ecu doesn't read the right resistance, it wont start. what i would suggest is getting a new lock cyl., going to a GM dealership and having them run your VIN number. they can see what restistance your key shoud have. have them cut a new key. see if that fixes your problem. like i said, there is absolutely no reason to reprogram anything. dont make it harder than it acually is.

Alright, this thread is getting redundant...
illusive: We've given you every possible solution to your problem aside from telling you to get a 0-13K Ohm potentiometer and wiring it in place and twisting the **** until your car will start. There are no more solutions to your problem, you have all the options.
