To add to the peace of mind department....the pre-LT1 C4 Vettes used to have oil coolers. GM began putting Mobil 1 in the Vette LT1 from the factory, and dropped using the oil cooler. An oil cooler can help keep the engine a little cooler, but full synthetic oil doesn't need a cooler to save itself.

Just incase anyone find this in a search, you have to remove the bolts that hold on the filter adapter and cut most of the head off.

I am still leaking at a rate of about a quart a second, I am going to try to set up a camera to see if I can fins out where it is leaking. I can not think of anything else in the area that can leak. If this block is cracked I am just going to part it out.

That would make sense, The motor was in a wreck but I did listen to it run for about 30 seconds. I hurt my knee yesterday so hopefully I can check that next weekend.

When I first thought the block was cracked I was really bummed but after thinking about it overnight its not horrible. If I part it out I can sell SS hood and SS rear deck plus the T-56 I also have a like new Water pump a GM performance Opti. I can strip the seats and the upgrade Bilstein shock and lowing spring plus the 18" rims on my V6. I can even grab the Posi/disk brake rear . I can then sell the shell and I still have all the parts I need to upgrade my 67 to EFI and 6 speed.

Well I used my bore scope to check the oil sensor. The sensor is not damaged, I mean for it to be damaged it would have to be there. I will sit in the corner with my new cap now.
I guess the guy that pulled the motor from the wrecked car removed the sensor cause and I did not.
