so i got a fuel pump today drove about 5 miles ran great i was soo excited but them when i went to leave work my car was running like crap so i went to the gas station got 20 in gas and she ran great but i noticed that when i rev up my engine the speedo goes up too so about 5 miles down the rd she starts running like crap again and the speedo is reading 95 whats wrong with my car its driving me nuts and no i wasnt doing 95 i was following traffic at 45-50

 

Where you looking at the voltmeter when all this happened?

 

ya it bounce a little (like a very little) im deff assuming i have some sort of an electrical problem but the volt gauge has always bounced like that since i changed my battery and alt

ohh and if i push in the clutch the speedo goes to where it should be

brights make my speedo drop

about 10 seconds after i turn on my brights when the speedo drops to 55 is when i pushed in the clutch then let it back out and the speedo jumped back up

so after i make my first turn (with the turnsignal not out of my driveway) thats second gear

while my blinker is on next making a left im completely stopped then i rev it (still not moving)

then after the vid ends i had to turn around first gear did the samething as in the vid but second gear brought my speedo up all the way like pinned past 110 i tried to make it do this again but it wouldnt

 

Dude that's insane. Idk what to tell you on that one. Mine did something like that once. I was driving on the highway and raced a Civic. When I hit 120mph my speedo started bouncing around between 0 and 100 and was just going crazy. My lights were flashing and all kinds of wacky ****. My wipers came on too. I'm guessing it was an electrical failure of some sort.

 

Doesn't your speedometer only go to 110, too?

 

Check your grounds and any wiring that was done when the fuel pump was replaced to make sure everything is clean and tight. I have noticed on some vehicles if you try to start them with a low voltage battery, the speedo will go up to 50 or 60 mile per hour mark. Electric signals and feedback can do crazy things sometimes.

 

ya i tried a ford fuel pump cuz i had one lying around the shop and had to cut the wiring in the sending unit to make it work now i have the camaro wiring back in but the wiring is just spliced together im going to get some butt connectors tonight and fix that maybe its grounding to the tank
little did i know gas literally melts electrical tape lol

rednight - i think some of the 3.4s went to 115 which is actually 120 although mine only says 110 it goes up to 115

 

no the clutch is good its only got about 10K miles on it the car wont actually move

seriously can nobody do anything about this jumping bullsht its really frustrating

 

Does your car lurtch at all when you rev like it's actually catching? When I rev, mine catches somewhere and I feel the car move forward.
