Default NewThrottle body control module now car wont start

Radio wasn't working and was told to replace or repair bcm. Unfortunately the board itself was fried, so i got one from a junkyard. Put it in but car won't start. Does it have to be reprogrammed and will i be able to do that and does it make a difference that the one i bought came out of one with alarm and remote entry and mines is manual ?

Your BCM is part of your VATS system, and the engine won't start because it's looking for a different resistor value than what your key has. You had a 1 in 15 shot of getting lucky playing BCM roulette, and missed it. When replacing the BCM with used, you want to be sure to get one with the same part numbers that are on the label. You can either go looking for a matching BCM, or try to find out what resistance value the new BCM needs so you can get a new key cut, or if you had the key from the car that BCM came from, you can read that one and get a new key cut for your car.
