Default are the newer camaros more reliable?

Hello fellow 'maros! i posted this in the 2010+ section but that section is pretty much dead so thought this would be better.

I was raised in a chevy life, my first camaro was in highschool, in 2007 1989 v8 camaro, bought it for 6k with low milage, it ran good for a about a week, then everything just started falling apart, from the rearview mirror to the engine!

After that nightmare I got a 96 z28 camaro a year later and it would always throw a check engine light. I ended up replacing 99% of the car, had to replace the EGR valve 3 times - i think the computer was fauly, then fuel pump went bad, tensioner fell apart, lost the water pump,...ugh.

Then I got an 01 camaro v6...same horror story, the windows stopped working, fuel pump went bad, EGR VALVE!!!!, altenator, and once again check engine light hell throwing codes that the chevy dealer said theres no problem and they scratched their heads as to why the codes were coming up :S

Then I got a old 150k milage 1000$ stang and it has served me faithfully to this day, but I just really like camaros and want to give them another chance.

So 2010 the new camaros started rollin', are their computers more reliable? 2014 im planning to buy, so when i sell my arm and leg, will i be pleased? are they pretty reliable and hardy?

And btw, I'm the kinda guy that takes exceptionally good care of his things. I keep maintenance records on my cars, and on my camaros I would fix things immediately and lost a lot of money, but I keep up with maintenance and don't dog my cars, so Hoping this next maro is a good buy. What have your experiences been?

thanks

also been reading on wikipedia, the first gen camaros seem awesome imo...then the second and 3rd gens seem to be slower, why did chevy make them slower? but then 4th gen got faster.

The years during the 1st gen, engine rating was "gross" h.p. Then in 1972, engines were rated "net", which was gross h.p. minus how much all the accessories drag down the engine. So on paper, these engines appeared to have had a drastic drop in hp over the previous year. In the 80's, more focus was put on gas savings, rather than performance. In the 90's, engine technology (head design, air/fuel supply, etc) advanced to where they were able to squeeze as much hp out of an engine as they could 20 years earlier, even with being choked down by comparison.
