dont be nitpicky about the mileage.. GM engines are tough as hell. im rolling around on 125,000 and i havent had any engine problems.. only a few things like cooling and ignition and opti.

i like SS's too.. always wanted one.. either way, if you get the Z you can put an SS hood and spoiler on it if you really like the look of an SS.. It won't be a true SS, but it'll look good.. If you were to do that though.. please leave the z badges on it..lol

Yea we'll see how I feel after checking out the one car. The Z28 is less than 5 miles away while that SS is about 80 miles away. And don't worry, I wouldn't lie and change the badges. ^_^

good.. i once saw an "SS clone" on ebay with a 6 in it.. and a towing package.. i was like WTF? who does this to a car???
anyway.. just get whichever you like best.. miles arent really a huge thing, but think.. you could drive one 20k miles, and have the mileage the other has on it now.. it's really up to you though.. i would definately inspect the car to every detail so you know what your getting.. know as many dings, dents, scratches, or anything that could persuade you to buy the other.. just check it out, and get which one you want the most.. good luck.

Just wanted to give you helpful posters a little update. I talked to the seller of the Z28 today and I am going there this Tuesday to take a look. He seemed like a real nice guy, but you can never be so sure. Either way, I love the SS that I posted on this thread earlier. But this Z28 is just too convienient; he's close by, it's a 2002, only 34k miles, great shape, and cheaper. I don't want to get too into it incase the car isn't as nice as I may hope, but I am getting pretty excited!

The SS's are faster than Z28's. Remember that the fastest stock camaro 1/4 mile time was setby a '02 SS. They run high 12's while Z28's run flat 13s. SS's have a less restrictive exhaust and a better intake. The actual engine is exactly the same though.

Thanks for the replies guys. Would it really set me back so much to essentially make a Z28 run like a stock SS? I wouldn't think so, but I really don't know. I love the SS hoods and rear spoiler though -- sexy as hell.
