Newbie here! 2002 z28 ss??

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and I'm currentlyin the process ofpurchasing a 2002 camaro. The car is labled as a Z28 SS, but under the hood it does not have the slp logo or any of the other add ons that the 02 SS is supposed to have. Are there two different kinds of SS's?? If so is there a difference in hp in the z28 ss and the rally red slp ss?? Im confused.. is there more than one SS model for 2002 camaros? Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the link! So, both the 2002 ss 35th aniver. edition and the 2002 ss coupe both have the same exact engine? What exactly did SLP do to the 2002 ss 35th aniv. edition? Please excuse me ignorance, I appreciate the help!

From what i know, they added special rims, different suspension, bilstein was the suspesion. auburn was the rear end carrier, rear mounted exhaust, badges, SLP offered several options that could be had, better shocks, floor mats, cat back, SS grill, etc. The only thing special about an SS is that they are numbered, but they are not any faster than a similarly optioned Z/28
also!! if you do infact have an SLP optioned car, go here and register http://www.slpowners.com/model/camaro_ss.html hope this all helps

All 2002 SS's are an anniversary car. Also, all SS's are built by SLP(not really built by them, but they are shipped to them for things like the hood, spolier, exhaust, etc....). I'm pretty sure you could order most of the same functionaloptions(ex.-suspension, exhaust)on the regular SS as you could the anniversary edition(Z4C). Most of the things that are exclusive to the Z4C cars is cosmetic, the rally stripes, badges, wheels, floor mats, embroided seats, grill and the camaro lettering on the back. So basically you could have a regular SS thats the same car as the Z4C but it just dosen't have all the cosmetic touches of the Z4C car.
