New fuel pump

Hey guys

I have a 97 v6 that needs a new fuel pump and i've been looking around for a new one. So far i came across Airtex, Walbro, Acdelco, Granatelli, and ADP. The ADP is in my budget right now and its on ebay if you guys want to check it out.New ADP GE3739 Electric Fuel Pump 25164520 25164521 | eBay

The ADP is a repair module not the whole assembly.

I wanted to hear some feedback on some of the pumps you guys have so i can buy mine soon.

Thanks

I can't help on the one you want but you should remove Airtex from your list. I have had three of them in mine in less than a year.

Thanks for the feedback Gorn!

Hopefully I get some more feedback on the others

i suggest a whole sending unit. youll have to crack the casing apart to replace just the pump and i dont think any sort of epoxy/glue will hold up to being soaked in fuel. and ya airtex is crap i dont use them anymore because of all the customers that came after a couple months (warranty work is no fun)

i have a granatelli in mine with no problems and nice and quite. used a plastic welder to put the canister back together. have a ac delco in the truck thats workin good. cheap one i bought for it lasted less than a year, dont remember the name.

The ADP has the casing so it would be the easiest since the others are exposed

e3739 is a airtex number. at 60 bucks and no warranty i could find i would not trust it. have you tried rockauto?

ccrunner1104 12-01-2012 01:42 AM

I just did, they have the whole module.

Airtex for 130 I believe then other for more than 200

I would like to buy just a repair kit

So far I'm leaning towards the granatelli

The first Air tec was very loud the second I hit the key. I was able to drive the car and I took it right to the parts store. I let the guy hear it and he agreed to exchange it. The second one just died on me on the highway 6 weeks after the install. The third one died on me about a week after the install but when I pulled it it was just one of their factory installed hoses popped off. I am so glad I did the hatch method.

If you go with the Air tec check the hoses.

I found another one, this one is by TRE performance based in costa mesa, CA which is like a half hour drive. It comes with a year warranty and claims it runs near silent.

If I buy this pump for example, I have to put it in the stock casing right? It can't sit in the tank exposed?
