Default New front bumper.

Ok, before I go out and spend money on a new bumper, I need to know something.

Is there a difference between a 'front bumper' and a 'replacement front bumper cover'? Are all the new bumpers I am going to find actually covers? Does this involve me taking my old bumper off to put this one on, or does it like clamp over it?

Sorry for the newbieness, but I would rather ask now than be sorry later.

All bumper covers require you to remove your old "front end" to install the new one. Aftermarket parts are slightly diffrent from factory parts ( so they don't get popped with a trademark lawsuit) but it's hardly noticeable. Just be sure to stay away from fiberglass replacements as they tend to crack easier.

Is there any way to get a new factory bumper?

Only way I know of is the dealership, but be prepared it's gonna hurt the bank account. Personaly I would get a quality aftermarket part if the one you have is beyond repair. Just be sure to get urethane sp?

The paint if horrid on the other one, down to yellow. The cheapest thing to do is just replace it. I will keep the bumper in case I ever decide to fix it and put it back on.

I guess I will just find another one, looks like they range from like 50 bucks to 150ish. Any place to get them from?

Proally gonna be best to shop locally as shipping on a part that big is gonna suck. You can always try hawks salvaged cars if you are willing to pay shipping.

There is a site online, looking for it again, but it's like 150 for a new bumper BUT it has free shipping on everything over 80 bucks. It's not saying if it's made of fiberglass or not though. So I don't know if I should buy it just yet or not.

ANYWAY, I am off for the night, nice chatting with you guys, mainly machine, take care and talk to you all tomorrow.

If your looking for a stock one have you looked at your local junk yards? You may also look into people parting there cars out. In fact there is someone on this forum parting out a 96, but then you have the shipping issue.

I'm a bit lucky in the snse there is alot of junk in indiana.
