need help with obd2 code

Default need help with obd2 code

my car has been failing the texas state inspection because it has a code for the check engine light i replaced the instrument cluster but it still has the code. what could this be and how do i fix it?

Replacing the instrument panel is not going to fix a trouble code. You need to get the car scanned and let us know the trouble code numbers. Otherwise, you can go ahead and change things till you pass out, and still have the lamp lit and fail inspection.

the code isn't for it being lit its for it not working and i for got the number code

the code will tell you whats not working, odds are its a sensor. get the car to a parts store and get it scanned again than come back with the code or codes. theres over 1000 codes so right now your pretty much running through the woods with a blindfold on.
