Default Need Help With Monsoon Factory Equipment

Ok so here's the deal. My girlfriend just bought a 2000 Camaro with a 3800 and A4. It has the factory Monsoon stereo system with the car alarm. I have a few questions about upgrading it to another head unit.

First off: will the car alarm freak out if I put another head unit in it? Will it make the alarm not work right? Will it cause any issues what so ever?

Second: is there a factory amplifier pushing the speakers in her car? What OHM rating are her factory speakers? Can I use her factory speakers with an aftermarket Pioneer HU?

Third: This one is about the car alarm itself. Her car didn't come with a key fob. But I'm sure it was supposed to because every time she unlocks her door with the key, it sets off the alarm until she starts the car. Any ideas how to set up a key fob for her or disable the alarm system? It's quite annoying having the alarm go off every time she unlocks the car with the key. Realistically I'd like to get her a key fob and program it to work with her car. Any ideas???

Thanks in advance guys!!!

Disconnect the battery and the alarm won't go off; the alarm might go off when disconnecting it, but that would be it.

Amplifier is in passenger rear wheel well. Don't know much else about it, sorry.

How does she set the alarm without the fob? If I use my key to lock the door, then unlock it later it won't set off the alarm. If you use the door lock button it can arm the alarm, but that can be programmed out I am pretty sure.

LS1tech has a whole FAQ and huge thread on just the Monsoon system itself, would be worth a lookover

If she locks her car and tries to unlock it with the key, the alarm goes off.

My car didn't come with a key fob either. I had about 30 seconds or less to turn the key on after opening the door until the alarm went off. I hated it. I bought a fob on ebay and tried to set it up myself. There's a series of things you have to do, it's in the owners manual. But I think mine never had one to begin with (not sure) so doing everything the manual said, still wouldn't program the fob. I had to take it to the dealership and have them set it up for the key fob. Didn't cost much at all and only took like 5 minutes. I don't remember what all they had to do for it. That was also quite a few years ago as well.

Thanks for the help guys! I got ahold of Massey and he had all the info I needed. Ordered a key fob for $25 and we're going to put a new head unit in her car next week.
