Ok, im not quite sure what all it is doing because i only rode in the car once, the car takes a sec to start,sometimes at idle it revs up and bcak down a few times, and when at about 35 40 ish it will cut out like it is losing power, so if anyone can help i would be thankful!

 

maybe it needs a tune up new plugs/wires. im not really mechanically inclined. but thats just my thought

 

Sometimes erratic idle problems are caused by air leaks around inlet manifold and related pipework. Could also be a dirty injector. Try a bottle of injector cleaner. Not sure what brands you have in America so couldnt say whats best but in the Uk the best choice is Redex petrol injector cleaner.

 

Bad plugs and or wires come to mind here. Maro also has a good point, make sure all the intake tubes are fitting good and tight. also make sure there is nothing blocking the MAF screen. Clean it up if there is and DO NOT REMOVE the screen. This does not help performance it hurts it.

Yeah thats what i though was plugs and wires, or maybe fuel filter, but i already changed it.... but thanks ill make sure to check all of this, its my ex car, she wanted a camaro after i got my 96 Z28. I know the basics about cars just didnt want to spend the money on stuff i didnt think i needed, and plus iv never had a v6 so i didnt know how much diff they were.

 

They are not much different... The dealer just sold you 3/4s of and engine is all.

Any check engine. I would think a sensor.

 

Yeah the CEL is on and i was thinking an oxygen sensor also , since it did the same to my sisters car. But i do need to run the codes aswell as change the plug/wires, amd check the MAS screen.


LOL, yeah my z28 put her v6 to shame, but i aslo know that you can make them just as fast!
