ok guys heres the story

I was driving my 95 camaro for a while had 200,000 miles on it

it had a little engine oil leaks and would smoke on i idle if i drove it several miles my main guess was a rear main seal problem

but no biggy i would replace a quart every 2 weeks which for me was ok

one day i decided to drive to seattle which is about a 2 hour drive for me

every things was fine till the minute i got back

let me tell you what happened

im driving down the road about a mile where i live

the first stop sign i notice a problem when i tried to accelerate it wos a little harder than usual

but it kept moving

the next stop sign i noticed way more white smoke was coming out than usual from the hood

the temp guege were reading fine

this time the car was barely movin forward the rpms shot to 3000 at 15 miles

so i pulled to the side

O tried to start the car back up but the battery was now dead

o check anti freeze it was good too

I asked for a jump by a helpful person the car started fine

then as i accelerated it went fine but then idled at 25mph

mire white smoke came out

then i heard a popping/choking sound coming from the engine not exhaust

i pulled to the side again i saw oil leaking in a puddle but no peaces of metal on the ground

i tried to start it back up the battery was dead again

I figured the engine was done for

so i asked for a rebuild for 1200 dollars labor included

when the mechanic tried starting it it made a pop/choke noise and white smoke started coming out of the hood

when he checked the engine

the crank was fine and it only had 2 worn pistons but nothing major

he said it could be electrical now or fuel system related

can all that happen with electrical and fuel how does that explain the excess oil smooke and leak and popping noise

does anybody know what it could be?

oh and do note when i was driving the highway i noticed the battery gaige go down and all the lights dimmed for a slight second then it came back on
