my plan if possible
allright guys, heres what im thinkin of doin, ive come along a guy thats got an 86 iroc, and the thing is he doesnt know if its got a 305 or 350 in it, but either way ill prolly get the car if it checks out, but what i was thinking, is that whether its a 305 or 350, i could build it up and put that in my v6 camaro i got right now, and i was wonder if that was possible?? and its carbed too, and for the iroc, buddy of mine has got a 400 sb i would put in the 86...i mean either way if i get the car the 400 sb is going in the iroc, so i was thinking why let that other v8 go to waste, just get rid of that v6 and put it in there, and would the the engine bolt up to the t5 i got in my 98, and i know i would need a cowl for clearence since shes carbed, and get a 10 bolt rear end or just something bigger and better than what i got now

is it legal to do that sorta swap and have it street legal? I was under the impression that if it was a modern body that it cant have a carbbed engine and drive on the streets.. but that may just have been a rumor.

really?? i havent heard nothin bout that..if you can have a carbed 3rd gen why couldnt u have a carbed 4th, idk, ima have to look that up, i mean it sounds like somethin the gov. would do just to **** people off, but i dont see if i get pulled why a cop would be like pop the hood

I thinks its more emissions regs.... no clue tho. Might want to look into it.. im guessing if u replace the engine since its still a newer body u have to have it checked since they dont go off of engine they go off of vehicle age... I dunno if a 20 year old engine still passes emissions or not tho.

I believe this is the rule. You can't put an older engine into a newer car.

ok, i have a question for you... is there a way to get a car that "runs cleanly" and will pass without cats? kuz.. the guy took the cats off my camaro and said it will pass emissions kuz it "runs cleanly"
