Alright guys so i finally got my 383 running pretty good. but now im having clutch issues. i bought the mcleod clutch kit that fits the 95 camaro 5.7L, it is the twin disc with a steel flywheel from mcleod, mcleod pressure plate for it, and i have the stock pivot fork. i also bought the adjustable master cylinder to go along with it. i installed it into my hydraulics and bled the system quite a few times. the adjustable master is adjusted so its 1" lower than the brake pedal. Now heres the problem. when i push the clutch pedal all the way in it feels as though its hitting something and having pedal kickback, similar to an abs module. and it syncs with the engine rpm. it wont go into gear, and as long as i dont push the clutch all the way in obviously it can start. now i know youre going to say, pull the trans and see what parts are hitting, itl be shown by clean scrape marks yata yata. i dont have a lift here at home, and nor do i have a garage and we just got snow here in chicago. how gay... anyways, i was hoping someone knows a quick fix or what is wrong with it if theyve had this problem. the shop who did the engine work w the balancing balanced my motor with it on there so im not sure if its set up 100% correctly. if all else fails im towing it to work and puttin it on the lift and rippin it apart to find out. thanks in advance guys!

 

If a shop put all that on, take it back and tell them what's up.

 

try workin it in thera little bit. I just got my car back with a spec 3+ clutch and it felt really goofy at first until the clutch started to mate up to the new flywheel. not sure why, but i couldnt get mine into gear without grinding either. it went away after a few miles of driving.

 

No like the pedal kicks back and grinds... it's not the actual clutch disc not fully disengauging I'm pretty sure. It won't go into gear no matter what

i would go with the first response. sounds like bad install. you can either drop the tranny yourself and check it all out, or bring it back and complain. I would complain, im not to keen on wasting money

 

I agree with what's previously been said. Since the clutch is brand new, it's probably not a problem with the hardware itself, sounds like an issue with the install. If the pedal kicks back and then it grinds you may have a problem with the throw-out bearing or pressure plate or something along those lines. Either you or whomever installed it is going to have to take it back apart.
