Default maybe bcm?

To start I bought yesterday a 1995 z28 convertible w/ 34k on it... bone stock nothing ever done to it.

So on the way home 30 min into the trip the radio cut on and off..... then today I hit a bump and it went out for good. Then when I got home I noticed the keyless entry, trunk release, interior lighting also inoperative.

So First thing checked fuses.... good, checked radio wiring good and original. So I started reading.

Everything says resoder the bcm.... is my camaro like the newer ones....????
Is the bcm still behind glove box?
Any other things might be the cause?

Thanks in advance

It would appear that you need to have the main relay resoldered but your BCM is not the same. That does not mean that it does not have the same problem. I have never had the chance to find the BCM in a 95 so I dont know where it is. Maybe some one else here will pipe in and let you know where it is. After that follow the directions in my BCM repair thread to fix yours. The reflowing steps will be the same.

It was crappy of the guy to not disclose these problems...scum...
Also before it happen I had parked turned off and the chime for having my lights on was going off so I turned them on and off and it stopped. Just wacky stuff

Your car does have a BCM but it is not the same as the 97+ cars had. Your BCM is considered a "Dumb" BCM as it cannot really be programed for anything but the key fobs and stereo codes. Check out the shoutbox site I believe it had a diagram for it. I cant linky it here at work since my filter here blocks it as "streaming media".

I would start checking the interior courtesy lamps for a short: Glove box light and switch, dome light, mirror reading lights and switches, and the console compartment light. Next, start unplugging things: radio, any amplifiers, and the hatch release relay.

You do not have a BCM. What you do have is an assortment of smaller modules that were later consolidated and replaced by the BCM. The closest thing to the fault you have read about would be in the RAP module, but that does not have any notorious defects like the BCM has. Nor does it control the interior lamps.

Alright fixed. Short in wiring to interior lights at mirror. Rubbed through insulation to body. Shrink wrapped and ok..... now to post some pics in new thread once I figure it out. Thanks for input!

Congratulations. This is by far not the first time I have heard of a short in a mirror lamp/switch wiring. Probably some design defect.
