thats lames, i am pretty sure there is a way to make it smog legal though. I will have to ask my mechanic because he is basically doing the same thing with his sons camaro.

 

Darn I wish this was a new development in outlawing smog for year 1994 or younger cars in California. Classic cars are exempt as it stands now from smogging in Cal. I'd use a smaller to mid shop not MIDAS or pep boys and they can install ebay parts or on line parts the big names can't use on line parts. a cat converter is like 550 bucks on ebay or less. worse comes to worse pay a little more to have it done right and done right the 1st time at a quality repair shop.

 

400 and some places do it under the table....but we love the environment too much here in the golden state.
