LT1 rear or LS1 rear???
I have been working on upgrading my 96 3.8. It has a pinion seal leak. I figure I would do a rear upgrade. I figure I would get the posi and disk brakes. I found a guy who will let me have the rear and the control arm and the drive shafts out of a LT1 Z28 for $300. Car only has 33K on it, The down side is he already sold the calipers off the rear. I pretty sure all the brake parts can be bought rebuilt. That would mean another 150 bucks or so.
I am not sure if I should pull the trigger on the LT1 rear or wait to find a LS1 rear or a better LT1 deal. Opinions? |
Hmmm not sure. I would say find a LS1 car with 3.42s and all the brake hardware. If you are just looking for the calipers i have a friend that has a set of vette upgrades he is trying to sell.

sounds like a fair deal. if u are not happy with it though dont do it. seemed to me like the ls has lower gears or are u looking for that.
