Default valve body removal

i am going to be removing the valve body to repair it per a tsb for a p1870 code. the trans is in the car, and ive never removed one while still in the car. i know how to go about getting the pan and filter off, but im unsure on the valve body. what do i have to be careful of? are the springs and detent ***** going to fly out, or will they stay in place to pull it down? is there anything particular to do to keep everything in place? theres absolutely nothing in the haynes manual about this, so i wanted to know what i was going to be dealing with first

i watched some videos online on how to do it. its much more complicated than the 700r4 and i dont think i would want to do this job in a driveway. theres too many small, sensitive things that can be easily broken. not to mention the trans fluid is going to be dripping on me the whole time, and that having it off the car for a week or two during the humid months will allow a lot of bad moisture inside.
