Lots of Questions??? Just bought 1998 SS Camaro
I have probably owned 12-14 Camaros.....but its been awhile, last one owned was a 1985 IROC.
Anyhow I just bought a 1998 Camaro SS.
6 speed tran, LS 1 engine.
The guy I bought it from had it less than a year and could not tell me much about the car.
I'm not looking to build a race car but whats the best bang for the buck modifictions for the car? ( chip, reprograming , exhaust, intake, etc...)
The car is pretty stock right now, the only thing I noticed while driving it was the temperature gauge only ran a little over 160. Is there a way to tell if the car was reprogramed to run a 160 thermostat?
I heard if you just change the thermostat the computer thinks the engine is still cold and it makes the car run rich.......the computer needs reprogramed.....is there a way of checking if it has been reprogramed or if the car has been chipped?
I also plan on switching everything over to synthetic fluilds.....what lube is recommened for the 6 speed trans?
Thanks for any advice.....I'm sure I'll have more questions.
