Default At a loss

Hi guys,
I have recently bought a 1996 Camaro Z28. Its a great looking car, has a posi rear, K & N filter, a shift kit, and a Flowmaster exhaust it is a joy to drive, and I now know why you forum members are so enthusiastic about these 'icons'! However it had a problem in that there were no interior lights or auto shift light, so I took it to a local shop for diagnoses. The mechanic determened it was a faulty BCM module and to make sure tried the one from his own Camaro. Unfortunately this didn't work either, so he replaced my own BCM back into the car, and rescheduled me for another time . But now, apart from the interior lights, the 'keyless' locks don't work, ( although the alam can still be set ) neither does the speedo, and I ask the forum if anyone has an idea what could be wrong

The BCM has the ability to be flashed and reprogramed with the software your car needs. If the link that Craby posted does not fix the issue with the locks you may need the software to be reflashed. GM dealers can do this and they charge around $100 for the service. That is all good unless the BCM is not the issue. You must have good door lock switches for the locks to work properly, if the driver's switch is bad neither door will function properly. Also the relays for the PDLs are part of the latch assy. Make sure that they are plugged in.

I knew I could rely on you guys for guidence! I'll have a look in all those areas you mention, and if all else fails take it down to a GM place to be reflashed. i'll let you know what happens.
