Hello everybody,
im looking to sell my current car which is a 1987 bmw. I need somthing bigger and with airbags. I loe the look of this generation of camaros, but i dont know which one to buy. Ive been looking at z28's but havent found any SS's. So if anybody has any suggestions, and why that would be very helpful.
Thanks,
Teddy

umm, I would say thats the least of the differences. They have a ram air hood that looks totally awesome, but i guess the RAM air isn't all that great. They have SLP exhaust, different wheels, higher gears I think.
But over all for Z28s, they had an LT1 engine from 93-97. and and LS1 from 98-02. Basically they gained a more HP just about every year. the big jump was when they switched engines. I have a 96' and so it has the LT1 engine, the only other one I've driven is my friend 98 Z28, but his clutch was all screwed up. They are very fast and fun cars!

The '96-'97 SS Camaro has a slight performance advantage over the Z28's because the intake was less restrictive and the exhaust was a little bit better, once they went to the LS1 in '98 the SS has no real performance gain over the Z28's unless it was ordered with the upgraded SLP suspension, and then it handled a bit better but still was no faster. So needless to say, the main difference is appearance(Chuck, I'm not flaming you, but please try and read up on what you're posting before you do it, there are countless topics on the differences between the SS and Z28 camaros on this forum). Ram air is only functionally 'ramming' at 100+ mph, so in the 1/4 it doesn't get you anything.
