Default looking at 98-02 camaro..

Ok this will not be my daily driver but I was wanting some opinions and i have a few general questions..

First off its defintly gonna be a 98-02 with the ls1.

What are the differences other than cosmetic between a regular camaro with a ls1, a z28, and the ss? Its weird to me that all of them have the same motor. So if you lined up the three of them which would be faster?

Is there anything to look for when at the lot? As in is there a common problem with these cars that i should look for? also what would be the highest mileage car that yall would consider safe? By safe is i want a car that i dont have to sink money into just to keep it running. i will be putting money into for upgrades but thats it.

the only ones that came with an ls1 is the z28 and the ss.the only difference with the ss is appearance and suspension, being the ss was the top of the line model

well these engines last a long time if they were maintained properly, i suggest having a local mechanic inspect it before you buy it.I know a buddy back home has one with 200k on the clock and its his daily driver,i do see some in the 120k with no issues either

The LS1 is a strong engine. There are a hand full out there with over 200,000 and ticking. I have also seen 100,000 plus mile stock virgin's that have never seen one mod put down good numbers both with nitrous and FI set ups. A lot depends on your price range as you go down in miles the cost will go up little by little.

I think you will be more then happy with the LS1 it surprised me the first time i ever drove one and years latter it still puts a smile on my face.
