a little update

I have been stalking the forums for a couple months. I got a 1994 z28 coupe for a pretty good price. ( $75 for a car hauler trailer rental ). There is no engine or transmission. it is a factory auto. the car has full interior .
so the last couple weeks I have been tearing into the recently acquired 94. I got the interior removed. and am currently cleaning the panels and giving them a new coat of paint. luckily there were not any surprises once the interior got removed. I also got the under hood harness removed. at first glance i thought the harness was complete , but with further inspection it has been cut and hacked. the head light and fog lamp section if the harness has been cut as well. Im assuming a new harness will need to be purchased. So with the harness out of the engine bay the next step is going to be getting the engine bay cleaned and painted. I want to remove the ac / heater box from under the hood just not sure what is required to do this. complete dash removal?

The plans for the camaro are as follows
355 LT1
Built 4L60e
AR Torque Thrust II
New front seats
gears
of course all new brakes , rotors , shocks , exhaust.

if you are replacing the motor, trans, harness and ecm you may want to look at them for 95 or maybe even a 96. 96 is obd2 which would be nice upgrade but i think you would need to change under dash stuff too.

I'm gonna get yelled at for telling you this, but if you're replacing ALL of that, might as well go LSx! Its going to make more power, be easier to work on and be cheaper to run and maintain in the long run

i was sorta wondering that myself, would need the k member, dont know about trans mount.

ive thought of the lsx swap. just not sure of whats all involved. kinda been leaning keeping the lt1 just for the sake of keeping it somewhat original. i have a 5k budget for engine/trans/wiring/ecu. the power goals are 325-375 hp.
